How we know

'Named' counts meetings where our voice check put this member's name on their speech. It is not attendance: a member can attend and not speak, or speak in a stretch we couldn't name. More on how we count

What Janet Riley said

I have very similar feelings and perspective as my council Fellow council members, um, I am, you know, longtime resident, personally very concerned about evacuation for everyone on Moraga Way. We're only talking, and I guess at the Caltrans site, we're talking about Moraga Way and 24.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · Sep 30, 2025Watch the full meeting from 2:06:19
  • I'm gonna piggyback on Council Vice Mayor's thought that enforcement is the underlying answer. And it seems like we should be trying to enforce the 25 mile an hour before we reduce the speed limit.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · May 5, 2026Watch the full meeting from 1:12:49
  • I also am in favor of this. I think the time is right. And I think there's been a good deal of effort put into it to create a very appealing gas station market. I mean, it's hard to do much better than have a trellis and have an observation deck over a creek.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · Jan 13, 2026Watch the full meeting from 1:47:52
  • We want to stage it and we want to do the ADA projects first. Um, I guess the only point that has been made is is the thought of finding nonprofit money, not just grant money, but raising funds in Orinda. Even though we don't have the Parks Foundation anymore, there may be other bodies that would rally around this.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · Apr 15, 2025Watch the full meeting from 2:30:42
  • Again, it's, um, I, I, I don't know. We're only analyzing whether or not the 35-foot rule would work for the other stations, and I don't know if the other stations could meet the this requirement. So I'm wondering what the purpose of all that restriction is.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · Jan 13, 2026Watch the full meeting from 53:48
  • I really want to talk to the traffic, the people who did the survey. I mean, this is their business. They must have a good explanation for giving us numbers when the sign says you can't turn left. Yeah, I don't know.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · Jul 15, 2025Watch the full meeting from 1:44:17
  • I guess I don't remember what the definition of unloading and loading is. I know we've talked about on Red Flag Day talks, um, but does it include the, the, um, landscaper truck for an hour? Is that unloading and loading? Um, I mean, I think we— unloading and loading is the washer dryer to me.Janet RileyCouncilmember · Orinda City Council · Mar 18, 2025Watch the full meeting from 51:30
